I obviously have not been on here in quite a while. So here are two pictures to update you as to what's going on in my family.

This is Speck, a two year old Shih Tzu. And no, that's not his cage, or bowls, or bone. They belong to Roxie :)

And that would be my daughter, coming Dec. 2012 :D

Meet Roxie

Roxie got a bath when we got home. She was very good the whole time

She adores Jeff, he is very important. I am not nearly as important.

Isn't she pretty? She is a four year old whippet mix. We just adopted her from a shelter.

One of the wedding gifts I received was a cookbook "Dining On A Dime". I am thoroughly enjoying this book. It as lots a recipes and advice for pretty much everything a woman deals with and lots of fun quotes, poems and quips. Not to mention a few recipes that are just funny, like "Elephant Soup". Did you know that elephant soup will feed 3,800 people? Of course if you are expecting more than that you can add a few rabbits, but only if necessary as most people don't like finding hare in their soup.

Here are a few more of my favorites.

"Face powder will catch a man but baking powder will keep him"

Substitutions

I didn't have potatoes...so I substituted rice,
I didn't have paprika...so I used another spice,
I didn't have tomato sauce...I used tomato paste,
A whole can...not half a can...I don't believe in waste!
A friend gave me the recipe
She said you couldn't beat it!
But there must be something wrong
As I couldn't even eat it!!!

This one isn't a funny, I've heard it before but it bears repeating.

Thank God for dirty dishes,
They have a tale to tell.
While others may go hungry,
We are eating well.
With home, health and happiness,
I shouldn't want to fuss.
By the stack of the evidence,
God's been very good to Us.

Yesterday I went a "New Spouse Orientation", basically we met other spouses and were told what our soldiers would be doing for the next 24 weeks of school. We were also told all about Fort Leonard Wood and the surrounding area. Most of the soldiers and spouses moved here for school and don't know where thing are. Apparently this area is not considered the best place for people who always want to "do" something. Wonder why?

Well, today I am starting a blog. Two of my sisters have them, and I love to follow theirs. I have no idea what all I will write about. And I most likely won't blog all that often. But I am having fun creating my page!
